Which jobs are growing in Denmark? Occupation groups rising and falling

Updated October 13, 2026

This guide looks at the change in the number of fulltime employees behind the earnings statistics in Denmark, split into occupation groups from Danmarks Statistik's StatBank. We compare the oldest release, 2020, with the newest, 2025.

The figure counts the people covered by the earnings statistics. It is not job postings, not vacancies and not a measure of demand for labour.

The order runs from the largest relative rise to the largest relative fall, so both growth and decline are visible. The background for the whole labour market is in the Danish labour market in numbers.

Groups in decline

These groups lost fulltime employees from 2020 to 2025. A fall means fewer people in the statistics, not necessarily fewer jobs.

  • Plant and machine operators, and assemblers: -0.3 %, from 91,307 in 2020 to 90,988 in 2025. Source: Danmarks Statistik, table LONS20, 2020. Source: Danmarks Statistik, table LONS20, 2025.

What the numbers do not say

  • The figure counts people in the earnings statistics, not job postings, vacancies or demand.
  • Occupation groups are DISCO-08 groups, not job titles, so the change of a single job title cannot be read from the group.
  • A fall in the number of fulltime employees can have many causes, and the statistics do not explain why.
  • The figures cover 2020 to 2025, and each line carries its own citation.
