This Privacy Policy explains how CVm8 ("we", "us", or "our") collects, uses, and protects your information when you use our CV generation platform (the "Service"). By using the Service, you agree to the practices described here.

Information We Collect

We collect the information you provide and the data needed to run the Service:

• Account information — your name, email address, and password (stored only as a secure hash).
• Profile content — the work history, education, skills, and documents you upload or enter to build your profile.
• Job descriptions — the postings you paste in to generate a tailored CV.
• Usage data — basic technical information such as logins and generated documents, used to operate and improve the Service.
• Purchase records — when you buy credits or a subscription (Standard or Pro), the IP address you bought from and the country it maps to (IP geolocation by DB-IP, db-ip.com). EU VAT rules require us to document where our customers are, so we keep these records for 10 years.

How We Use Your Information

We use your information to:

• Generate, store, and export the CVs and cover letters you create.
• Provide, maintain, and secure your account and the Service.
• Communicate with you about your account and important changes.
• Process payments for paid features.

Data Storage and Security

Your data is encrypted in transit and at rest, and access is restricted to what is required to operate the Service. While no online service can guarantee absolute security, we take reasonable measures to protect your information.

Third-Party Services

We rely on trusted providers for infrastructure, AI processing, storage, and payments. These providers process your data only as needed to deliver the Service. We do not sell your personal information, and we do not use your content to train AI models.

Your Rights

You can access, correct, export, or delete your profile data at any time from your account, or by contacting us. If you delete your account, all of your associated data is permanently and immediately deleted, except purchase records we are legally required to keep.

AI-Generated Content and the EU AI Act

CVm8 uses artificial intelligence to deliver its core features: your career profile is built by AI from the documents you upload, and your CVs and cover letters are generated by AI based on your profile and the job description you provide. In line with the transparency principles of the EU AI Act, we make it clear that this content is AI-generated. AI can produce inaccurate or incomplete results, so you remain in control — review, edit, and confirm every CV before you use it. We do not use your data to train AI models.

Cookies

We use the first-party cvm8_language cookie for up to one year to remember your language choice. We use local storage for sign-in and to remember your privacy choices. Optional analytics and advertising technologies are off unless you allow them in Cookie settings. If enabled, these technologies may collect information about how you use CVm8 and share it with providers such as Google for campaign measurement and advertising personalization. You can change or withdraw your choices at any time using Cookie settings in the footer. See Google's Business Data Responsibility site at https://business.safety.google/privacy/.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this Policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the "Last updated" date above and, where appropriate, notify you.
